It is associated with the leading causes of premature mortality globally, including chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. This lecture will present findings from the SUN cohort study and the PREDIMED and PREDIMED-Plus clinical trials, which provide evidence on the role of dietary patterns and lifestyle in the prevention of cardiometabolic disease.
